What can you do to help your children have a healthy school year? As you may know, one major part of keeping your child healthy is helping your little one have a healthy mouth. As a parent, you can help your child stay healthy by scheduling a back to school dental visit. While your little ones may not enjoy the trip—especially during summer— it could help them stay healthy throughout the school year.

You see, tooth decay is fairly common in younger children, especially since there is more sugar being introduced into their diet. These sugary snacks make it easier for bad bacteria to grow in their mouth, which can lead to more cavities. While this may not seem like a problem, did you know that 51 million school hours are missed each year because kids need to visit the dentist?

Fortunately, there are a few things you can do to make visiting our dentist a more pleasant experience. For instance, if you have children who nap, try to schedule an appointment that won’t interrupt their sleep. Similarly, remember that a hungry child will probably struggle at our office. Luckily, summer provides a great time for you to find time to visit our team.

Finally, please remember that having dental checkups is extremely important. When you visit our office, we’ll gladly assess the health of your little one’s smile and our team will clean your little one’s gums and teeth.

If you would like to learn more or to schedule an appointment for us, please don’t hesitate to contact Molinare Dental Group at 973-993-1979. We’ll gladly answer any of the questions you may have. Dr. Jon Molinare and our team look forward to hearing from you soon!
