As you may already know, Halloween can be a scary time for your smile, especially because of the countless amounts of sugary treats available. So, it’s important to take care of your teeth (or fangs if you’re a vampire or werewolf) as much as possible. You can do so by brushing twice a day and flossing at least once a day.

To help you have the proper flossing technique, our Molinare Dental Group team has provided the following flossing instructions:

-Break off about 18 inches of floss. Wind most of the product around one of your middle fingers, or around your paw if you’re a werewolf.

-Wind the remainder of the floss around the same finger on the opposite hand or paw.

-Hold about an inch of the floss between your two index fingers without any slack. Guide that section of floss between your teeth by using a gentle back-and-forth motion.

-When the floss gets close to the gums, curve it into a “C” shape against the tooth or fang. Then gently slide it between the tooth and gums until you feel resistance.

-Hold the floss against the tooth and gently scrape the side, slowly moving away from the gums.
